Week 15 Recap: the good, the bad, the playoffs?
After the victory against the New York Giants there were concerns Miami’s bye week might derail the momentum they have built over the five previous weeks.
Although the Dolphins managed to pull off a win. The first half we all had pits in our stomach, thinking to ourselves, “The Dolphins are about to blow the playoff chances against the 3-10 Jets?”
There aren’t many ways the game could have started worse the home team. Miami started with a three & out (which included a fumbled hand off), their second drive was one play that ended in an interception, and the third drive was another three & out.
Not to be outdone by their offense, Miami’s defense when step for step. The Jets first drive was a 10 play, 83 yard drive for a touchdown. After Miami’s first score putting the game at 7-10, the defense allowed the Jets to score another touchdown, this time driving the ball 68 yards in 8 plays.
Before half time Miami was able to add a field goal, cutting the deficit to 10-17.
The score wasn’t the only the that New York led in at halftime either. Miami trailed New York in time of possession, first downs, third down efficiency, rushing yards, passing yards, and more.
Just another classic Dolphins moment.
For as bad as the first half was for Miami on both sides of the ball. The second half was just as good, if not better.
